Previous Description
With the blessing of the shopping centre, we are providing 50/50 Trad/Nuevo music for an afternoon of '**free**' Street Tango.
We're dancing on smooth yorkstone flags - so street shoes may be more appropriate. Also, there are joints between the stones which may catch heels.
Anyone dancing must take responsibility for their own actions and safety (and to dance mindful that shoppers will be milling around you, or may even decide to walk across the dance floor) - so please proceed with caution!
If you want to dance to our music or even just meet up with Tanguero friends - feel free to turn up! This should be a great 'fun' opportunity to showcase Argentine Tango in a truly picturesque setting.
Plenty of seats on the balcony overlooking the (ahem) dance floor...though as they belong to Hemmingways Cafe; you would be expected to buy a coffee and some cake at the very least!
If too many people turn up, you may need to sit out for a while in order to allow others to take a turn dancing within the designated area which is 5m by 5m between the roof pillars (see photo). Hopefully you will not need to be asked by the organisers to do so ...but if so, we would respectfully ask that by agreeing to attend, we will have your agreement to comply in order to keep it fun for everyone.
